These two solid limestone benches are eight feet long and each
weigh 3,000 pounds. Engraved text in the benches display the
brand of the legendary Four Sixes Ranch and the name of
founder Samuel “Burk” Burnett and Anne Burnett Windfohr
Marion, Burk’s great-granddaughter and the ranch’s current
owner. This legendary ranch is headquartered near Guthrie,
Texas and comprises a large part of the story of ranching told
at the National Ranching Heritage Center.

The bronze figurative sculpture in front of the Museum of
Texas Tech University features five children. With two boys on
one side and three girls on the other, the children engage in a
game of tug of war. The piece was acquired with funds from the
Clifford B. Jones Trust and the West Texas Museum Association.
