TRUDY KRAFT (AMERICAN)
Watercolor
Pediatric Lobby
To create many of her works, Kraft employs a combination
of watercolor, sumi ink, gouache, and frisket. She typically
begins with a watercolor freely painted, then produces a
second dimension of pattern by masking the surface with
frisket (a resist material). Additional structures are added
with sumi ink. Finally, Kraft uses gouache to augment and
adorn the surface of the painting.
