Written by Chris Cook Texas Tech defensive end Brandon Williams has been named to “The Sporting News” Big 12 All-Freshman team. The honor is the first recognition of the season for Williams’ efforts on the field. Williams was active off the bench for the Red Raiders, working in a defensive rotation that produced 29 sacks that ranked among the top half in the Big 12 Conference. The true freshman totaled 16 tackles on the season, including three and a half sacks. Williams produced a season-high five tackles and two sacks in the win over Southeastern Louisiana and added a sack and a half in the Baylor win. |
