Alumni Highlights
The Texas Tech Alumni Association will be hosting Reunion 2006 in conjunction with the Missouri football game and Homecoming Weekend, October 5-7, 2006. This will honor the classes of 1981 and 1996 as we hold the second annual 10 and 25 year reunion.
During this three-day event, attendees will be able to see the changes to Texas Tech University with a tour of new facilities and a bus tour of the campus. This tour will have frequent stops, including a tour of the library and visitor’s center and an ice cream break at Texas Tech’s newest eatery, Cowamongous, located in the new Animal and Food Science building.
Some of the other events visitors will be able to enjoy include an opening mix and mingle, breakfast at the Merket Alumni Center, A Matador Evening* and the Legacy Breakfast where attendees are welcome to bring additional guests and of course, their Texas Tech Legacies.
Although this event honors the class of 1981 and 1996, anyone is welcome to attend. Guests are asked to R.S.V.P by September 1, 2006. Alumni Association members will receive discounted rates and there will also be early registration discounts for anyone who would like to register online between May 1, 2006 and August 1, 2006. Early registration will begin May 1st, 2006. *A Matador Evening, the 46th Annual Homecoming Dinner, is both a fund raiser and a friend raiser. This year’s focus will be on providing scholarship funds for the Texas Tech Honors College. All proceeds from this year’s event will be presented to the Honors College in the name of Marsha Sharp. The recipient of the Lauro F. Cavazos Award, Marsha Sharp, and the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award, to be announced at the event, will be honored.
