Scholarships and faculty chairs are two of the many ways AT&T continues to contribute to Texas Tech.
AT&T Foundation President Laura Sanford visited campus recently to celebrate the completion of the million dollar Dean’s Chairs for the College of Engineering and College of Human Sciences. These gifts are part of the company’s $10 million Horizon Campaign pledge.
Sanford visited the two colleges and met with the deans and development officers. At a reception later in the day, she and Texas Tech President Jon Whitmore presented certificates to students who had received AT&T scholarships. AT&T contributed $4.3 million to fund the scholarships. In total, the company has donated about $41.5 million to Texas Tech.
Texas Tech presented Sanford with two books of thank you letters from undergraduate and graduate students who were awarded the scholarships. These books are now on display in the AT&T headquarters in San Antonio and the regional AT&T office in Lubbock.
