The Texas Tech Alumni Association will host its second annual Pre-Lighting Festival Dec. 1 prior to the Carol of Lights.
The event, which will begin at 5 p.m., will take place at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion, located just southwest of Jones AT&T Stadium. All Texas Tech alumni, students and members of the community are welcome.
The Carol of Lights begins at 6:30 with a Carillon concert. At 7 p.m., the Saddle Tramps begins and is followed by a holiday music concert and the lighting of the lights.
The Pre-Lighting Festival will allow attendees of the Carol of Lights to come early, get a good parking space and enjoy free snacks and warm beverages all while enjoying the sounds of Christmas music. Santa Claus will pose for pictures and hear Christmas wishes.
The Marine Corps Reserve will accept toys for the Toys for Tots program. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy with a minimum value of a $10.
The festival will also feature the raffle of a $1,000 scholarship donated by the Student Alumni Association Board of Directors. The recipient of the scholarship must attend Texas Tech in the Spring 2007 semester. Raffle tickets for the scholarship are available $1 at the Merket Alumni Center located at 17th Street and University, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
