TTU System Health and Wellness Initiative Update
Feb. 28, 2023
Letter from Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D. and First Lady Janet Tornelli-Mitchell,
M.D.
Dear Texas Tech University System family,
From our experience as medical professionals, health and wellness in all realms are our top priorities. We care for you like family and want to ensure each of you have an opportunity to partake in our Health + Wellness Initiative at the Texas Tech University System. Since launching in 2020, together we have embarked on the journey of integrating small, healthy choices and changes in our daily lives.
You should have recently received emails from Wondr and Catapult Health with updates about their programs and how you can access the great benefits these programs offer. Below is additional information about these benefits.
Through the Health + Wellness program, we have several resources available to benefits-eligible employees.
- Wondr Health is a digital behavioral program that addresses the full continuum of mind and body
wellbeing. Wondr teaches clinically proven weight-management skills and provides preventative-care
solutions and mindfulness strategies to make favorable impacts on weight-related conditions,
sleep disturbances, depression, anxiety and overall stress. This program is available
at no cost to employees, retirees or dependents enrolled in a HealthSelect plan.
- Catapult Health Virtual Checkup connects you with a certified nurse practitioner who helps you complete an annual
screening evaluation, including bloodwork and body measurements. Health care professionals
can then use your individualized plan to take the appropriate steps forward. The cost
of the checkup is covered at 100% by your HealthSelect plan.
- ERS of Texas provides a multitude of additional health and wellness initiatives free of charge, including mental health resources, weekly webinars, articles and wellness challenges. You can find additional information on ERS of Texas’ wellness resources page.
- Finally, you can join our TTU System Health + Wellness Facebook Group, where we invite all to join our conversation through asking and answering questions, sharing advice and our wellness stories, and sharing reminders and additional resources.
Sincerely,
Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D.
